VINTAGE PICTORIAL PEPSI-COLA TIN SIGN

This lithographically printed Pepsi-Cola tin advertising sign was produced in England in 1967. Unlike the earlier, harder wearing enamel signage, these tin signs are move vulnerable to damage and weathering and subsequently fewer examples survive. Compared to enamel though the lithographic printing process does allow for a much broader spectrum of colours to be used and for much more detail as we see in this lovely, pictorial piece with it's glamourous model and detailed imagery of the Pepsi bottle and the cap logo.
Although it has survived to tell the tale, this particular piece has clearly had a hard life, the left-side is discoloured from heat and there's a scattering of burn marks along with a multitude of surface scratches, small dints, dents and creases (see the second to last photo where I've angled the sign to try and show these as they're not so apparent square on). Despite these defects, the sign remains vibrant and legibile and certainly has bundles of character. It's a rare piece in any condition and this piece does remain presentable, even if it's more of a 'vintage aesthetic' than a collector's piece.
The sign measures 71cm high x 52cm wide.
