UNUSUALLY SMALL VINTAGE MARTINI ENAMEL SIGN

£999
Thanks to a very aggressive mid-century marketing campaign by Martini, their 'bar and ball' logo has become iconic. This particular enamel sign is of an unusually small size and features a relatively early version of the logo with a rich red 'ball' element and large, simple typography. This sign was produced by Dutch enamelers 'Langcat' and is likely to date to the 1940s/early '50s.
The sign remains in good, bright condition with virtually no enamel loss, excepting a tiny chip in the lower right that's barely visible on the face of the sign. All the hanging tabs remain in good, functioning condition. The sign retains a very good gloss, though there are a couple of patches of discolouration to the white enamel layer, visible in the upper middle and the upper right. There are two small patches of dulling to the gloss of the black enamel layer around both the 'I's of Martini (see the angled photo where I've tried to capture this). Generally the sign is a very well preserved, bright example and a wonderful piece of decor for a vintage themed kitchen, café, pub or bar etc.
The sign measures 43cm wide x 23cm high and has a 1cm return.
