This early 20th century, French litho-printed, embossed tin sign oozes charm with a warm colour-way and wonderfully detailed graphics. This sign is advertising a "Crémant" (sparkling wine made like Champagne, but not in the region) called "Caves de l'Abbaye" (the Abbey Cellars) produced by Tessier Fils.
The sign was produced by a Parisian printers and is likely to date to the 1920s. It has survived in decent condition, there are some surface scratches and some minor patches of corrosion as well as a slight bending to the upper left corner but this all adds to the character and authenticity of an original piece that is nearly a century old. It's original brass hanging loop remains in place in the centre of the upper edge and there is a small hole in the middle of the lower edge so this piece is ready to hang.
This sign's subject matter makes it perfect decor for any vintage themed kitchen, café, bistro or similar and measures 42cm high x 33cm wide. The embossing is around 3mm thick.
