NECTAR TEA, TEACUP SHAPED ENAMEL SIGN
£0
£999
These cup and saucer shaped Nectar Tea enamel signs are an iconic piece of early, English advertising. Produced by the Patent Enamel Co Ltd, this sign is likely to date to the 1920s and were primarily displayed on train station platforms up and down the country.
Often reproduced, it's wonderful to find an unquestionably original example - this one is good, clean and honest. Remarkably, there are no areas of enamel loss to the main surface of the sign. There is some chipping / losses around the outer edges and the mounting hole at the top centre. The chipping around the very outer edges has been touched in with a green paint - this is only on the very outer edge, there is no 'touching-up' to the main area of the sign.
The sign measures 54cm wide x 32.5cm high.
