Simple and striking. This 'Office' enamel sign with it's right facing arrow is a lovely, functional piece of mid-century signage. 

 

I don't know anything about where it originates from, it's almost definitely English, c.1940s/'50s. The arrow has a MoD / governmental look to it, but that might well just be an aesthetic choice from the makers. It's not a thing I've encountered before. 

 

It's in wonderful condition with a great surface gloss and no losses to the enamel. There is some staining / discolouring around the outer edges - most of which could be cleaned off, but personally I thought it added to the charms / history of this sign. 

 

It measures 28" / 71cm wide x 8 1/2" / 21.5cm high and can easily be hung using the original mounting holes.
