LARGE, VINTAGE WALL'S ICE CREAM TIN SIGN
Measuring in at 1.5m wide and 1m high, this Wall's Ice Cream is a real statement piece. This is a paint on tin example and sits within it's original metal framework - aiding rigidity and hanging. The colours have muted beautifully and, in my opinion, the sign displays just the right amount of wear to add character without detracting from the impact of the iconic typography/colourscheme.
The sign probably dates from the 1960s and there are areas of paint-loss to the metal frame work as well as scuffs and scratches to the surface of the sign - most notably the upper right corner and to the 'R' of cream. There's a little denting/distortion to the lower left corner near the maker's mark but this is all part of the charm of a vintage piece.
In total the sign measures 152cm wide, 101cm high and is 2.8cm deep.
