VINTAGE TIN MICHELIN TYRES SHIELD SHAPED SIGN

£999
Michelin's advertising is easily amongst the most iconic of the mid-20th century. The Bibendum character (aka Michelin Man) is internationally recognised as is the company's blue and yellow colour scheme. This lithographically printed, tin sign is a rare survivor (as it's more vulnerable than the slightly earlier enamel examples) and utilises the brands iconic shield shape.
The sign probably dates to the early 1970s and has survived the decades in nice order. There's a little surface oxidation / paint loss and a few scratches along with some denting and a few creases (see angled photo for a better representation of this), but nothing that affects the impact of legibility of the piece. In my opinion they add to the character / vintage charm of the sign. It can be hung using it's original mounting holes and displays very well.
The sign measures 72.5cm high x 61cm wide.
