SMALL VINTAGE TIN MICHELIN TYRES SIGN

Michelin's advertising is easily amongst the most iconic of the mid-20th century. The Bibendum character (aka Michelin Man) is internationally recognised as is the company's blue and yellow colour scheme. This small lithographically printed, tin sign is a rare survivor (as it's more vulnerable than the slightly earlier enamel examples) and it's charmingly small (30.5cm) size and square format make it even more unusual.
The sign is dated to March 1978 and it has survived in wonderful order. The colours remain vibrant and there's not really any notable damage except for a little marking around the mounting holes and a couple of light surface scratches. There's a slight mottling to the blue background just from weathering over the years, but this is the sort of thing that you would expect, even hope, to find with an original vintage piece. Generally this is a bright and punchy piece of vintage advertising for an iconic brand at a more viable price than any enamel example would be.
The sign measures 30.5cm square and sits flat / displays well.
