REVERSE PAINTED GLASS ADVERTISING SIGN FOR SADLA FOODS

Sadla Products (Produits Sadla) were a French co-operative, formed at the turn of the century in reaction to the large Parisian grocery stores... They worked as the intermediary between the producer and the consumer buying in bulk for better prices and selling at semi-whole volumes.
This particular sign is reverse painted on glass, with pressed and gilded metal lettering used to create a three-dimensional effect. A wonderful piece of fine early 20th century advertising. It states that the Sadla brand is a sign of superiority and that 'sale houses' (shops) can be found in all French cities.
Given it's vulnerability, it has survived the decades well, with just one small crack to the lower right corner which appears to have been present for a fair period of time. The sign is housed in it's original reeded frame; this has several areas of loss and some discolouration to the white paint, but it doesn't detract from the sign and adds to it's vintage charm.
A fantastic piece of kitchen / cafe decor, including the frame it measures 65cm high x 46cm wide x 2.5cm deep.
Due to the vulnerable nature of the sign, collection or in-person delivery would be preferable so please enquire with your location and I can work out the best / safest way to get it to you.
