£999
This wonderful silver Victorian locket has the raised monogram AEI to the front. AEI stands for Amity, Eternity, and Infinity meaning the love (amity) that I have for you will last through all eternity and into infinity (or simply 'I will always love you'). Here we see the letters interwoven in a fantastically styled monogram - the entwinement being further symbolism of love/togetherness. This acronym was very popular amongst the romantic Victorians, who liked to keep their sentiments secretive.
This particular locket is of a good size remains in good bright condition, with no notable dents or scratches and clicks firmly closed. It's not hallmarked, though a lot of Victorian silver wasn't but is being sold as a silver coloured metal. Originally the inside would've had a piece of glass on each side behind which a photograph of your loved one(s) or a keepsake like hair would be placed - the glass is now missing, but it could still be used to hold a photo or keepsake or simply worn as a pendant.
The locket measures 6cm high (inc. bale) x 3.5cm wide x 1cm deep.
