19TH C. SILVER BOOK CHAIN BRACELET WITH BUCKLE DETAILING
£0
£999
A wonderfully fine, 19th century continental silver book chain bracelet with a buckle design at the clasp and gold detailing. A wonderfully free moving, fluid piece that sits on the wrist beautifully. The tongue of the clasp is stamped '800' (a continental silver mark) and it's most likely that the piece was made in France c.1880.
It has survived in excellent condition with no notable dents or squashing and all of the spherical finials present. The clasp is good and tight and secures in place with a definitive 'click' - there is the addition of a safety chain for added peace of mind.
At 26.9g, this is a quality, weighty piece and doesn't have that flimsy / 'tinny' feel that lesser quality pieces of the same style can have... It measures 2cm wide and has a circumference of 20cm (7 7/8").
