This early 20th century, French litho-printed, embossed tin sign oozes charm with a warm colour-way and wonderfully detailed graphics. This sign is advertising a "Crémant" (sparkling wine made like Champagne, but not in the region) called "Caves de l'Abbaye" (the Abbey Cellars) produced by Tessier Fils.

The sign is likely to date to the 1920s and does evidence a century of wear and tear with areas fading and paint loss - in my opinion this adds to the character of the sign without impacting it's legibility. It's original brass hanging loop remains in place in the centre of the upper edge and there is a small hole in the middle of the lower edge so this piece is ready to hang.

This sign's subject matter makes it perfect decor for any vintage themed kitchen, café, bistro or similar and measures 42cm high x 33cm wide. The embossing is around 3mm thick.
