This Nestlé's enamel sign is a very striking and very unusual example. The yellow background remains wonderfully vibrant and it's striking typography with a white drop shadow suits the bold, exclaiming message; "Mothers! Nurse your Babies; if you can't - get Nestlé's. The milk that's always pure" perfectly. 

 

As it's such an uncommon example, it's difficult to date the sign accurately, but it's likely to date to the 1940s / early '50s. It's survived it's years in decent order; there are some losses around the outer edges and the mounting holes on the outer, upper corners have worn through (though the sign can still be hung using the remaining mounting holes) there are also a couple of other patchers of enamel loss around the middle of the sign - through the 'you' and the 'can't'. In my opinion this is the sort of wear that you would expect to find on a vintage piece of advertising and it adds to it's character without impacting it's legibility or impact. The sign retains it's vibrant colours and wonderful glossy surface (see the last photo where I've tried to capture this).
