SOUTH LONDON BREWERY ADVERTISING SHOWCARD

This South London Brewery advertising showcard is a real rarity.
Jenner's Brewery was founded in 1787 on the Southwark Bridge Road in South London. Registered April 1937 as Jenner's Brewery Ltd, it changed it's name to the South London Brewery Ltd in 1939. Brewing ceased in 1964 and the buildings have since been demolished.
I've encountered very little in the way of advertising for the South London Brewery, this litho-printed tin showcard with it's plastic coating is likely to date to the 1950s, perhaps early '60s. The colour-way is very 'of the period' but charming. Small areas of rust are starting to show through the print, but this is part and parcel of an original piece of vintage advertising. The showcard has been encased in a basic white wooden frame; sides and rear - a quality job that allows for the piece to be hung. It displays well.
A lovely piece of London / brewing history, the piece measures 48cm wide x 35.5cm high x 2cm deep.
