Robert and Mary White produced the first R. White's lemonade in Camberwell, south London, in 1845 - from here they've developed into an instantly recognisable household brand.

When you see an R White's enamel sign of this design, you're actually looking at one of the faces of these iconic triangular bins. Few complete bins survive as it's been considered more profitable / easier to split them into individual signs...

It dates to the 1950s/ early '60s and is the earliest design to use the dark blue, yellow and green colour scheme - a design that we recognise from today's logo.

A rare survivor, this R Whites bin is complete with it’s original basket liner. All three faces are in pretty good condition - they would clean a little further, but I quite liked some of the ageing around the outer edges. All the rivets are present, so it’s good and sturdy. It's as functional as it is decorative and would be just at home in the corner of a kitchen / cafe as in a collection.

It stands 73cm high x 54cm wide x 47cm deep.
