Michelin's advertising is easily amongst the most iconic of the mid-20th century. The Bibendum character (aka Michelin Man) is internationally recognised as is the company's blue and yellow colour scheme. This lithographically printed, tin sign was produced by G A Shankland Ltd in January 1981. It's time spent hanging in a repair garage is evidenced by the addition of a couple of period stickers; Bob Heath Visors and M&S Autocare Ltd (windscreens and sun roofs).

The sign has survived the past four decades in nice order. There are a few dents, scrapes and scratches. A few flecks of over spray here and there and a little damage around the mounting holes but generally it's a good, clean + bright example. The iconic look without the price tag of an earlier, enamel example.

The sign measures 75cm square.
