SMALL VINTAGE TIN MICHELIN TYRES SHIELD SIGN

Michelin's advertising is easily amongst the most iconic of the mid-20th century. The Bibendum character (aka Michelin Man) is internationally recognised as is the company's blue and yellow colour scheme. This small lithographically printed, tin sign is a rare survivor (as it's more vulnerable than the slightly earlier enamel examples) and has a nicely detailed graphic of their ZX tyre and utilises the brands iconic shield shape.
The sign is dated to 1972 and has survived the decades in nice order. There's a little surface oxidation / paint loss and a few scratches, but nothing that affects the impact of legibility of the piece. In my opinion they add to the character / vintage charm of the sign. A small return has helped keep the sign nice and flat. It can be hung using it's original mounting holes and displays very well.
The sign measures 40cm high x 34cm wide x 0.5cm deep.
