MID-CENTURY HARDBOARD MARTINI MENU BOARD
£0
£999
Thanks to a very aggressive mid-century marketing campaign by Martini, their 'bar and ball' logo has become iconic. This hardboard chalkboard / menu board is an unusual format for their marketing - probably becuase of the vulnerability of the material and few surviving.
This piece is likely to date to the 1960s, probably from mainland Europe though lacks any markings to further pin point it's origin... It's printed on a hardboard with a rubber band around the outer edges and two fixing holes along the top edge. It's certainly lived a life, plenty of scuffs, scratches and fading. The lower corners are a little knocked / misshapen and the rubber band a poorer fit on those edges as a result but what it doesn't lack is character. Simplicity of the piece helps the bold logo to stand out, it oozes vintage charm and could probably still be used to display a message / menu list etc.
It measures 76cm high x 50cm wide.
