This letterpress printed, petrol station notice has to be about as early as they come ... 'brake wheels and extinguish all lights (oil or gas)'! 

 

This paper notice will date to the early 20th century and a time when petrol could be purchased from general stores / repair shops etc rather than dedicated 'pumped' stations as we know them today. It employs a wonderful array of typefaces, sizes and styles - printed onto a paper that has yellowed nicely over the decades giving a lovely, antique aesthetic. 

 

The poster has been professionally framed and glazed and is ready to hang. Including the frame it measures 74cm wide x 53cm high x 2cm deep.
