A real curiosity and an absolute pain in the backside to photograph without too many reflections, this vintage British Railways hessian mail(?) sack has been lavishly framed and presented.

 

It's amazing how a bit of framing can make art out of the everyday and in this instance the darned repairs and the bold lettering become beautifully highlighted. 

 

I can only presume that it was made for a museum display, it's behind glass and measures 1.46m wide x 85cm high x 7cm deep so it's large, it's heavy and would make for a real statement / conversation piece.
