VICTORIAN COPPER WASH POT / CAULDRON / LOG BIN / PLANTER
£340
£999
This large copper pot with beautifully bold seams and rivets and an absolutely gorgeous, dark patina dates to the late 19th century and would've originally been been a 'wash copper' (aka copper boiler or simply copper) which would've sat over a fire for boiling washing. This style of large pot is often mis-identified as a cauldron, though really it would never have been used for culinary purposes. Regardless of it's original function, this piece now makes for a fantastic log bin or planter.
A decent sized example in fantastically original condition, with an almost bronze like colour surface!
The upper edge of the copper has a diameter of 48cm and stands 33cm high.
