Buffalo Puppy Cakes were produced by Clarke's and have one of my favourite product names ever. This gorgeous sign was produced by Jordan of Bilston and probably dates to the 1930s. It's a fantastic example of it's type, the bright red letters are gently shaded and this in turn is complimented by a very soft drop shadow - just gorgeous. This thin portrait format is particularly unusual and makes for a fantastic infill for that more awkward space / gap. 

 

The sign has survived the decades in fantastic condition with a lovely surface gloss and no losses except around the mounting holes / corners. There's a minor amount of surface scratching (most notably on the left of the 'B') but nothing that draws the eye. A really vibrant piece that displays beautifully. 

 

The sign measures 114cm high x 25.5cm wide and can be hung with ease using it's original mounting holes.
