The very definition of 'small but perfectly formed', this miniature chest of drawers stands at 26cm high and was probably produced as an apprentice piece. It's a finely made, scale model with lovely dovetail joint detailing on the drawers, turned wooden handles and a rich, dark surface that has developed a fine craquelure. 

 

Although hard to date, it's likely that this is late 19th century and it's survived the decades in good order with light wear and tear evidencing careful use. 

Perfect as a place to store jewellery, sewing stuff or similar. 

 

The piece measures 26cm high x 22cm wide x 17.5cm deep.
