1930s/'40s WOMAN IN OVERCOAT, PICTORIAL OUTFITTER'S DOOR
£0
£999
A wonderfully unusual piece. This panelled door is painted with a stylish 1930s/'40s woman in an overcoat, heels and brimmed hat. The door propertedly came from a Dutch outfitters / department store.
It's been competently, if somewhat naievely painted and appears to have the artists name in the bottom center. The handle is on the left side (later re-glued) and the hinges remain on the right side. Two screws and some wire have been fixed to the reverse to allow the door to be hung on the wall and appreciated as the piece of art that it is. The upper edge has been cut at an angle.
The piece measures 1.43m high x 60cm wide x 8cm deep.
