The Shining shouldn't need any real introduction; the 1980 thriller/horror film was based on the 1977 Stephen King novel, starred Jack Nicholson and was of course produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick. 

 

As even the film's own poster declares it was 'A Masterpiece of Modern Horror' - a bold, but well founded claim. Over the past few decades the film has become widely regarded as one of the best horrors ever made and in 2018 it was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry.

 

The Shining is a staple of modern pop culture and an unquestionable cult classic. This original US one-sheet poster dates from the film's 1980 release and the striking typography set against a vivid yellow background was designed by renowed US graphic designer Saul Bass.

 

The poster remains in near perfect condition with just minor wear along the original fold-lines - typical with glossy posters from this period. Please note that the white areas visible near the centre of the poster are just reflections against the poster's glossy surface. 

 

The poster has been professionally framed using conservation grade backing paper and is ready to hang. Including the frame it measures 107cm high x 71.5cm wide x 2.5cm deep
