SHAPELY ANTIQUE GWR (GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY) HIGH STOOL
£0
£999
This particularly fine and wonderfully shapely turn-of-the-century stool is probably made from Beech, it has a brass foot rest and is stamped to the back of the seat 'Arley - GWR Station'. Arley Railway Station is located in Worcestershire, England and the station was part of the the Great Western Railway from 1863 until it was passed onto the Western Region of British Railways during the nationalisation of 1948.
The stool is fantastically comfortable and is an excellent height to quickly 'perch' on - it'd would work well at a kitchen counter or breakfast bar. Over the years the stool has aged nicely - the brass foot rest (used as it's harder wearing than a wooden spindle) has darkened to a lovely deep bronze colour and the outer edge of the seat has also darkened nicely. There are a few water marks on the seat itself but these are incredibly faint and would probably lessen further with use.
The stool is 66cm high and the seat is 41cm wide x 34cm deep.
