BROWN & HAIGH, FERRY BRIDGE - VICTORIAN GINGER BEER BOTTLE
£29
£999
These late Victorian (c.1890s) stoneware beer / ginger beer bottles are wonderfully decorative pieces with a thick glaze and bold lettering. This two-tone, saltglaze bottle would probably have contained ginger beer produced by Brown & Haigh of Ferry Bridge at 'The Crystal Aerated Water Works'.
Ginger beer was originally an alcoholic brew made from fermenting ginger, sugar, and water.
The bottle has survived it's years in good order with some staining / discolouration around the lower half. It's nice / unusual to see Brown & Haigh's 'B&H' stamp to the bottle's base.
The bottle measures 18.5cm high and is 6.4cm in diameter. The price includes UK Mainland delivery.
