This French, tin sign is for 'Vedette - Ensoleille Votre Vie!' which translates to 'Star - Brightens up your life!' and would have been displayed at one of the retailers of the company's washing machines and refrigerators. 

 

The sign is likely to date to the 1950s and the design of the soap sud covered sun is so evocative of the nuculear / atomic energy imagery from the period! The sign is litho printed on metal and so a fairly rare survivor as these tin signs are more vulnerable than their enamel counterparts. There's a little surface rust leaching through the paint, particularly along the left edge - enough to give the sign an authentic, vintage look at feel without effecting the impact or legibility of the piece. 

 

The sign measures 60cm high x 40cm wide and can be hung using it's original mounting holes in the corners.
